ソーシャルゲームが原作ということで、若干色眼鏡で放送を迎えられた感のある本作。
しかしながら、監督には「タイガーアンドバニー」「アシュラ」のさとうけいいち、キャラクターデザインは「ガンツ」「ベルセルク」の恩田尚之。
音楽には「相棒」の池頼広と、実力・実績ともに確かなスタッフを揃えていたことから個人的にはかなりの期待を持って放送を楽しみにしていました。
そして蓋をあけてみるとどうでしょう。
まず深夜アニメどころか、テレビアニメではかつて無かったアニメーションのクオリティ。
剣劇、アクションもさることながら、人物のわずかな表情、所作にまでキャラクターに命を吹き込むことに余念がありません。
次に重厚な音楽。
荘厳さ、軽快さ、神秘的な雰囲気などバリエーションに富みつつ、ファンタジーに必要なスケール感を存分に演出。
EDの曲、歌声も素晴らしく、アーミラ役の清水理沙さんは間違いなく声優界ではトップクラスの歌唱力です。
そしてストーリー、キャラクター。
１話では「なぜ彼らが主人公？」と思わせながら、次第に本心や過去、生き方が明らかになるにつれ、主人公たちの魅力が理解されていくよう、巧妙に計算されている。
また、ストーリーについても、本筋は非常に王道ながら、超クオリティのアニメーションと、キャラクターの個性的な味付け、意表をつく展開が合わさって、全体としてたいへん優れたものになっていると思います。
とにかくすべてが期待をはるかに上回っていて、毎週驚かされる作品です。
１話は世界観の説明に終始した印象でよくわからなかったのですが、２話からぐぐっと面白くなりますので、ぜひ多くの方に観て欲しいです。
もう一つ興味の持てない人も、アニメファンなら、非常に人気のある「Fate」と同じクオリティのものがもう一つやっていると思ってもらえればいいと思います。
「Fate」がCG,撮影、演出を駆使して映像美を追求しているのに対して、「バハムート」はもっとプリミティブな、アニメーション自体のクオリティを追求しているのも好対照です。
ちなみに表題の「バハリMAX！」は毎週のエンドカードの決め台詞です。
１話では「流行んねーよ」って思ってましたが、今は一緒に「バハリMAX！」ってやってます。
「バハリMAX」を受け入れたとき、きっとあなたはこの作品が大好きになっているはずです（笑）。

最後までクオリティが落ちることなく、最初から最後までバハりMAX！な作品でした。
ストーリーも終わってみると、嘘つきな男の嘘から始まった旅が、彼女にとっての全てになったという素敵で切ない話で、ラストの2人のシーンは何度見ても涙がこみ上げてきます。
終わってからEDを聞くと、まさにアーミラの歌になっていて、いっそう歌詞の意味と重みとが深く心に沁みました。
EDで生きていることの歓びを全身で表現しているアーミラは今回の旅のワンシーンだったのでしょうか？

まだ購入を迷っているかもしれない方にむけて内容物をまとめます。
わくわくしながら開封して、中ケースの表紙がファバロのまっぱケツだったのには吹き出しましたが、
メニュー画面が日の登る美しい山を背景にケツなのは微妙な心持ちに…。
本編は放送時すでに素晴らしい作画で、1巻のリテイクをしていると聞いた時は
直すところあるか？と思いましたが、一回観て判った限りでは
2話のファバロとアーミラの馬上の会話シーンが直されています。
映像特典は、「BGMのみの予告画面」「ノンクレジットOP」「ノンクレジットED」です。
オーディオコメンタリーはカイザル独りで2話のみ。
ちょっと変わり種で、役者ではなくキャラクターとしてコメントするという形式です。
特典CDはED曲「Promised Land」の通常、ピアノバージョン、通常のボーカル抜き、
ピアノのボーカル抜きの４トラック入っています。トラック間に無音がほぼ設けられておらず、
通してきくと１曲にも聴こえますが、これがなかなか良いです。
原画集は１枚きりではなく、カット単位で連続して見れる様になっています。
イラスト集の様に一枚ずつついているものも好きですが、なんと素晴らしい仕様。
「悪魔に変身したアーミラが顔を上げる」「ゴースの召喚悪魔に飛びかかるファバロ」

全体的に本当にどうしたらファンが喜ぶか、を念頭に置いていると感じました。
次がまた楽しみです。
③ケツへのこだわりがスタッフの作品への情熱を物語る
とてもクールなアニメ。
物語は王道的なファンタジーだけど、アクの強い主人公が良い味出してます。
ありがちな気取ったイケメン主人公だったらこれだけ支持を集めなかったかもしれません。
円盤でヒロインの裸が解禁されるようなこともなく、エロ要素に媚びてない。
それどころか、箱を開けると最初に出てくるのが男のケツ。ディスクレーベルにまたケツ。メニュー画面で広大な風景にとケツ。くどい・・笑。
笑ったら負けなのか。
とにかく、こういうしょーもない遊びが許されるほど、中身の完成度は高い。
２巻以降のビジュアルはどうするつもりなのか、かとても気になる（もうケツは使えまい）。
④色んな意味で凄いアニメ
TVアニメなのに全ての要素が劇場レベルの高い水準でまとまってて、
しかも「娯楽作品」という稀有な作品。
これだけでも十分買いだが、もう一つ稀有な要素が。
何と一社単独スポンサード！ ソシャゲパワー凄すぎw
いよっ！ 御大尽！！
特例すぎるにしてもこの作品が成功すれば面白いテストケースになる。
制作委員会が介在しないため、ただでさえ潤沢な予算がダイレクトに
ほぼ全て制作費になった。結果、TVアニメ水準ではありえない異常な
作画量で作られ、一流どころの原画マンを揃えてるせいか全く破綻がない。
委員会方式が悪いという気はないが、ここまで圧倒的なクォリティを
見せられると、今まで見てきたのは一体何だったのかという気になる。
こんな方式で作られるTVアニメもたまにはあっていい。
とにかく凄い。凄すぎる。
⑤オーディオコメンタリーも良かった
ゲームの方は未プレイですが、、
キャラデザが好み、キャラが魅力的で見ていて楽しくて、
毎週楽しみに見ていたアニメです。
特典の原画集目当てで今回は購入したのですが、原画集とても良いです！
パラパラ漫画として楽しめます。絵もきれいで満足。
あと2話目についているカイザルのオーディオコメンタリーが
地味に面白かった。
アニメの方は、コミカルだったりシリアスだったり派手なアクションがあったり、
見ていて飽きません。
難しいことは考えずに楽しめる王道ファンタジー。
アニメが好きな人みんなにおすすめしたいアニメです。
